CCF win second trophy in a week

CCF won the Barnet Senior Basketball league with a convincing 75-37 win against Finchley Catholic High School in the play off finals. A slow start and low scoring first quarter, possibly as a result of fatigue from the weekend's tournament win had CCF just ahead early on. However some strong play from Ugo off the bench, dominating both offensive and defensive rebounds, and Semitan excelling on the break saw CCF up by half time.

In the second half CCF moved up a gear and their motion offense caused Finchley problems. CCF extended their lead and added 27 points to the scoreboard. The final quarter saw some of the less experienced players in the group get important minutes, cheered on loudly by the starters from the bench. Kenzie lead the way with his strong drives to the basket in transition. The biggest cheer of the night was reserved for Malachi, who showed his rebounding ability in collecting a huge offensive rebound and scoring the put back!

The team shared the scoring around, but were lead by captain Orin with 15 points, backed up by Damien with 10 and Ethan with 9.

This victory was CCF's sixth consecutive Barnet league title and the team will be hoping to add the Barnet Cup trophy after the Easter break in the last game of the season against London Academy!

Squad: Orin (c), Addo, Ethan, Malachi, Jack, Damien, Carlos, Mohamed K, Jawad, Nile, Aqib, Kenzie, Ugo, Semitan.
